A breaktank is a reservoir which is placed between the water gauge and 1 or more disconnection points. Breaktanks are also called disconnection tanks. These breaktanks are applied when there is a disconnection required between a waterworks, according to the EN1717, category 5 water. The main reason for using a disconnection tank is to prevent contamination of the water mains by the presence of substances in the event of back-flow of the water;
